A Stepping Stone to 3rd level or full-time employment
Ballyhaunis Community School has been a provider of high-quality Post Leaving Certificate/Adult Education training for over forty years.ย  Hundreds of students have taken the opportunity to upskill or reskill and move forward into further education/higher education or the workplace.ย  Many have completed the training in one year and others over two years as the course caters for the flexible needs of modern life.
  1. It is a stepping stone to third level education, further training or employment.
  2. Up to 390 CAO points can be achieved.
  3. The training provides practical computer skills which are so vital in todayโ€™s world.

Past students have stated that the training unlocked opportunities they thought would never exist for them.ย  So, if you are interested in developing new skills or honing your existing skills why not join us and sample the options available.ย  All computer training is practical/hands on using the latest version of Microsoft Office software.

Attendees are also offered the opportunity to complete the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) which adds further competence to your job application. ย Students can choose from a broad range of modules at standard and advanced levels.ย  Further information on the options can be accessed on www.ecdl.ie

    • To enable the learner to develop an understanding of organisation types and structures

    • ย To develop a fundamental understanding of presentation concepts and their range of application.ย  Gain the knowledge of material and venue requirements and the implications of presenting to different target groups.
    • To examine the different methods of researching a topic and to develop an understanding of effective presentation delivery with appropriate body language, eye contact and voice projection.
    • To explore presentation software commonly used in business and other activities, and demonstrate initiative in responding to presentation assessments.
    • To create an awareness and understanding of a wide range of presentation functions in order to manipulate, retrieve and output information.
