Christina is a winner!
Each November the annual Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition takes place in Castlebar. This year three of our TY students competed – Jorja Hession, Eva Boyle and Christina Ruane. Schools from all across Mayo compete to deliver a speech on a topic that relates to the empowerment of young women. The speech is a minimum of 6 mins and topics range from human rights to democracy. The competition was intense but we are so proud to say that Christina was chosen as a winner.
Christina will now compete in the regional finals of the competition in Ballinasloe next January.
We wish Christina well and also to thank her teacher Ms Mulroy who helped the girls prepare for the event.
