On Wednesday, 24th September, fifth year Business and LCVP classes travelled to the Oireachtas as guests of Deputy Paul Lawless, TD, and former teacher at BCS. The students heard Deputy Lawless contributing to a debate on childhood poverty in the chamber before a tour around both houses of the Oireachtas.Β They met several Oireachtas members; Ciara Keogh, Rose Conway Walsh, Peadar TΓ³ibΓn, Dr. Martin Daly, Senator Gareth Scahill and Minister Norma Foley. Presidential candidate Catherine Connolly took time out of her morning to have a cΓΊpla focal with our students. We even enjoyed a few lively debates with members as we made our way from the DΓ‘il and the Seanad to the coffee dock.Β Β
