The LCA1 class in BCS were busy this week preparing an area of the school grounds for the sowing of a wildflower border. As members of the Ballyhaunis community, any effort we make to increase biodiversity is time well spent. We look forward to the beautiful colours of the flowers and busy sounds of bees and other pollinators in the months ahead. The LCA1 class wish to thank the school management team for supporting this endeavour, to Michael O’Shaughnessy and Gerry Glavey for assisting with the effort and to the local Tidy Towns group for approaching the school with the idea.

Transition Year Group C students were examining the schools water system yesterday with Gerry Glavey our Caretaker, as part of the Water Flag for Green Schools process. Students hope to raise awareness within the school and at home on how to save water and hope in doing so to reduce water consumption within the school.
